4 local schools make the grade

newsweek magazine recently named 4 area high schools among the top 500 in the nation.  hume-fogg, a metro magnet school, got the highest honors of the four ranking at 33.  brentwood high school was next on the list at 100 and two other williamson county schools, ravenwood and page, also made the cut (at 284 and 494 respectively).

each school’s score is comprised of six components: graduation rate (25%), college matriculation rate (25%), AP tests taken per graduate (25%), average SAT/ACT scores (10%), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10%), and AP courses offered (5%).
