barnes & noble brings literacy back to west end

former borders on west end soon to be home to barnes & noble

just when you thought the book store was nearing extinction in nashville, barnes & noble has partnered with vanderbilt university to relocate their campus bookstore in the formerly vacated borders location at 2525 west end.  b&n college, a wholly owned subsidiary, will be in charge of operations.  it has partnered with more than 630 other campus bookstores across the country including harvard, yale, and the university of pennsylvania.

the new b&n campus bookstore will provide the typical fare of textbooks and course materials for students but will also allow for easier parking, provide longer hours and be available on game days for vandy fans wanting to buy licensed apparel while they are in town or at an event on campus.  at the same time, it will offer books and materials for a general audience too.

the current campus bookstore in rand hall will remain in operation until the relocation is complete this fall.
