saying good-bye to the last traces of the grizzly river rampage

if you grew up in the area, you’re all too familiar with opryland.  funnel cakes, country shows, rides and the grizzly river rampage, one of the theme park’s main attractions.  opryland closed its doors in 1997.  this week, a $12 million construction permit was issued to fill in and grade the area between opry mills and the opryland hotel where the grizzly river once flowed to make way for a new pump station.
