six years after the stores closed, there’s a new vision for the bellevue mall property west of town that might stick. in a community meeting thursday night, crosland southeast executives announced to residents that the 75-acre lot would be redeveloped into 330 apartment units, a 110-unit hotel, and up to 600,000 square feet of retail space as well as roughly 150,000 square feet of medical or office space. the previous bellevue mall structure will be torn down by the end of next year. the $100 million game plan instead calls for open-air retail.
crosland is known best here in nashville for helming the creation of the 103-acre providence marketplace in mount juliet, in a joint venture with carolina holdings. they anticipate completion of the multi-use redevelopment by 2017 or 2018.
